Top 4 Rituals to Bid Farewell to 2024

“It’s been a year!” – A common phrase near the end of a calendar year. Around this time many of us begin to reflect on the good, bad, and most memorable moments experienced. How do you say goodbye to 2024 and welcome in 2025? Here are 4 creative and healing ways to do so.

Journal

If you keep a journal, it is often satisfying to read through the book by New Years eve. It’s amazing how many accomplishments we’ve forgotten! Now is a great time to celebrate the good, and bid farewell to any negative memories. Try writing down 7 things you’re grateful for in a Gratitude Journal. It’s been proven to be very positive for our mental health to focus on gratitude each day.

Photo Album

A fun and creative way to share memories, is to gather our photos from our phone and put them into a photo book. I usually start the photo dumps in November, and upload them to a photo album app. My favourite photo books sites are Shutterfly, or Blacks. These have lovely templates that you can simply drag and drop your photos, I find going through the photos each year is another way to celebrate the memories made. Photo albums are a great way to share your memories, and they last forever.

Plan For 2025

Jan is a great time to begin goal setting for the new year. People call it resolutions, but I call it goals. Setting goals has been proven to motivate, and bring in focus and clarity. Putting these goals on paper can make us more committed and accountable to brings these to fruition. Your can make a list, create a calendar, or create a vision board to aid in visualizing and manifesting what you’d like to achieve in the new year. Start with 3 simple goals, like eating healthier, making more time for myself, etc. You can add onto your goal list anytime.

Burning Bowl Ritual

This ritual is a new age way to release the past, and bring in the new. What you’ll need is a fire safe bowl, paper to write down what you’d like to release (emotions, relationships, habits etc.) Light the paper and let it burn in the bowl. The ritual is a way to clear out negative feelings that hold us back, and thus allowing us to enter the new year with clean slate. Be sure to do this burn safely, and never leave it unattended.
